Throw a Glamorous Party

Planning to throw a party and you would like to invite only your gal pals? Make it as girly and as glamorous as ever! Any party – birthday, bachelorette, sending-away, graduation, or just a simple viewing party or a reunion – can look glam if you want to! You deserve to go all-out with the glitz and glamour and host a party that your friends will talk about for years. Here are some pretty ideas for your glamorous party:

1. Make a garland out of sequins

A party is not complete without a garland or a banner. By using sequin trims, you can easily make a glittery phrase garland for your party.

Simply cut letters out of cardboard, considering how the width of your trim can cover the cardboard. After cutting out, hot glue the sequin trim to the cardboard, following the shape of the letter. Repeat it until all the letters are covered in trim. Then, line up your word or phrase backward, and glue a hanging cord to the back of the letters. Let dry, then hang your sparkly garland!

2. Add sparkle to your balloons

Balloons are the ultimate party decorations. Blow up a set of colorful balloons, then use gold foil confetti to give them some sparkle. Paint some thin layer of glue around the bottom part of the balloon, and then pick a handful of the confetti and press it to the balloon. Shake the balloon so the excess confetti falls off and let it dry.

3. Prepare a popcorn bar

If you’re throwing a viewing party or a simple movie marathon with the girls, put up multiple popcorn flavors on a decorated table. Serve popcorn on tall glass bowls then label what flavor it is by decorating a pink star with a gold label and gold borders (like those stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame).

You can do it by simply cutting out stars on cardboard, then glue pink glitters all over one side. Once dry, use gold glitter glue to spell out the flavors on the pink star. Finish by drawing a line on the edges of the star using the gold glitter glue. When completely dry, tape it to the popcorn bowls with the corresponding flavors. Place white, plastic toy plastic shovels with glitters on the handle for scooping out the popcorn, and provide cardboard popcorn buckets for each of your guests.

4. Serve DIY glitter lollipops

Sweeten up your snack table while adding a touch of glam by making your own lollipops with edible glitters. You just need 2/3 cup light corn syrup, 2 cups white sugar, ¼ cup water, and edible glitter.

To prepare, lay cookie sheets lined with parchment paper on your countertop. Sprinkle edible glitter in small circles about 3 inches apart in two rows, so the lollipop sticks would face opposite directions. It is important to prepare your work area first so you can work quickly when your candy has finished cooking. Now, place corn syrup, sugar and water in a saucepan, and stir until the sugar is dissolved and is boiling. Once boiling, use a pastry brush to wash down the sides to prevent crystals from forming. Don’t stir and wait until it reaches 300-310 degrees in about 5-7 minutes. Remove it from heat and set the saucepan in a bowl partially filled with ice water for 15 seconds. Wait for most of the air bubbles to be gone, but don’t let it cool off too much. Immediately, pour the mixture carefully in the middle of each glitter circle you made earlier until it forms a circle that reaches the lollipop stick. Wait for it to completely cool before removing it from the parchment paper. These lollies will really look glam and fab!

5. Provide a fruit pizza bar

To provide a healthier alternative to cakes and ice cream, make a “build your own fruit pizza” bar. Provide some soft sugar cookies and let it serve as a “pizza” crust. Add some sweet vanilla yogurt or whipped cream frosting and top it with fresh, sliced fruits! All you need is to serve them in separate containers and let your guests make their own fruit pizza. You can use three different fruit toppings, like strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi – but it’s up to your taste and liking if you want to add more fruit. What a glam and healthy way to party, right?

6. Serve glitter-dipped donuts or glittery cupcakes

Give your dessert table some style by serving donuts dipped in edible glitter! All you need to do is to pick your favorite donut flavor and dip it in some edible glitter. Serve donuts with the glittered side up to make pretty donuts. But if you’re more into cupcakes, simply sprinkle some glitter of choice to your cupcake frosting.

7. Give your guests fun drink flags

When drinking champagne and girly cocktails while you chat and laugh all night long, your glasses might get mixed up. Provide your guests some fabulous gold striped straws, with black flags on it. Then, write their names using a silver glitter pen. These straws will help your guests not to get confused about whose drink is in the table.

8. Give them glam party favors

To make your party extra fabulous, give party favors that any glamorous woman would love. Give them some beauty products like lipstick, lip balm or some facial cream or facial masks. Or, you may provide accessories like sunglasses, scarves or charm bracelets. Make sure you wrap it up in a gold glittery ribbon to keep it sweet and girly.
