Learn About Glamorous Plus-Size Model Gabi Fresh Aka Gabi Gregg

Gabi Fresh, also known as Gabi Gregg, is known as the "OG Fat Girl." On LiveJournal, before the age of influencers, she wrote blog posts about dressing and living as a fat woman. In a viral 2012 post, the model, designer, writer, and entrepreneur was among the first and now longest-standing online voices to argue that worshiping thinness is a paradigm humans have the power to reject.
Today, she's shifted her following to Instagram, where she promotes other rulebreakers, makes a compelling case for fat women wearing caftans, and runs a great body-positive empire based on the belief that everyone deserves to wear clothes they love. Gabi's refusal — and the solar way she loves her body — has helped inspire an army of women to do the same, as evidenced by her Instagram comments.

The new collection has something for everyone: red lace, colors, black satin, prints, and even blue garter belts. Each piece is playful and risqué, with cut-outs, straps, and mesh paneling, signaling a new direction in the plus-size intimates market, which rarely strays from conservative, classic, and frankly boring designs. Gregg also doesn't skimp on support, including dual shoulder straps, full cups, underwires, and more. Bottoms include high-waisted briefs, bikinis, and thongs to accommodate every customer's lingerie style. Like most adolescent girls, Gabi struggled greatly with her body image as she grew up. All she wanted as a chubby black child from a lower-middle-class family was to fit in. Gabi grew into her identity as she grew older, but she still believed that her life would dramatically improve if she lost weight. The model was introduced to niche fashion and body positivity forums online during college, where plus-size women divulged their daily outfits and connected over common experiences. Living in a larger body impacts how society treats you, and eventually connecting with those who understood your experience is validating and healing. Gabi realized that she was okay with her weight after consistent visibility and representation and that the strive for thinness shouldn't be her top obsession in life. Gregg gradually started feeling better about her own body. She reclaimed the term "fat" and began blogging about plus-size fashion resources and her style, quickly gaining a sizable fan base. Creating a close-knit community of women who were thrilled to finally have a place to celebrate each other and share where to get the latest fashion gave the model a sense of purpose while fostering her self-confidence. Cornell, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, has been her boyfriend since 2014. In a previous interview, she admitted to having anxiety, depression, and ADD.
