How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day This Year

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, but the most romantic day of the year will obviously be quite different this year with so many restrictions still in place. This means that couples will have to be creative for ways to enjoy the day together this year – some may not even have to celebrate virtually, which will be even harder. So, what are a few ways to make this year’s Valentine’s Day special?

A Home Cooked Meal

People often like to go out for a romantic meal on Valentine’s Day, but clearly this is not an option this year. The obvious alternative is to order a takeaway which is certainly a good alternative, but instead you could enjoy a home-cooked meal together. Cooking together can actually be a fun experience and a great way to make this year a little bit different.

Chocolates

Chocolates are another Valentine’s Day classic and will be a great gift whether you are fortunate enough to be together on the day or celebrating virtually. Buying luxury chocolates and gifting them to your loved one will be a special gift, particularly in challenging times like these where indulgence can make such a positive difference to mental health.

Go On a Bike Ride

There are obviously restrictions as to what you can do right now, but one fun activity to do together that will allow you to stay safe at the same time is to go for a bike ride. It can feel fantastic to get out and explore on your bike with the special person in your life especially if you have areas of natural beauty, plus it is a great form of exercise too.

Virtual Cocktail Class

There is nothing quite like a few cocktails in a swanky bar with your partner, but this will sadly not be possible this year. A good alternative is to take a virtual cocktail class, which will teach you how to make your favourites and be a fun activity to share together.

Plan a Getaway

There are lots of ways to make this Valentine’s Day special, but you will both be looking ahead to happier times which is why you might want to use the day to start planning a getaway for when it is safe to do so. This will be a fun activity to do together but it will also give you something to look forward to in the coming months.

As you can see, this Valentine’s Day can still be special despite restrictions with these being a few ways to enjoy the time together.
