Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil Review

The quest for a good eye pencil is forever an unsuccessful one. There are so many options out there today, but no brand seems to have just the right mix of qualities that would make a perfect eye-enhancing tool. Can the Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil bring an end to the hunt?

No, but it is very close.

One of the major selling points of the Pacifica Natural is that it is vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. These are three very big check boxes for not only women with makeup sensitive eyes, but for many makeup users. The fact that it is vegan and gluten-free means that it is free from all animal byproducts and many additions that irritate sensitive skin. Of course, the fact that it isn’t tested on animals is a big bonus, too. I would imagine eye pencils are one of the more torturous products to test on animals.

Unfortunately, one of the major ingredients in the Pacifica Natural is shea butter, which is sold as a benefit for the product, but there are a fair share of people sensitive to it out there, essentially locking this eye pencil away from them. However, if you don’t have any shea butter sensitivity, it does do an excellent job of keeping your skin moist.

…Perhaps too good of a job.

The fact that it has shea butter is probably not a deal breaker for many women. However, the shea butter does make it super easy to put on, but also super easy to rub off. This isn’t a waterproof eye liner, nor is it smudge proof, so you need to be very careful about not touching your eyes after application. Even then, the eye liner is likely to spread to your creases throughout the day without any extra help.

Yet, as an eye liner that is enhanced with vitamin E and vitamin C as a preservative, is its precarious smudge-prone nature an acceptable trade off for all the other nice features of the Pacifica Natural eye pencil? Well, that’s for you to decide.
