Everything about Nudus is simple. From the packaging and the name to the straight-forward shades, but it is rare to find an “organic” lipstick that actually lives up to its label. Typically you find some less than organic ingredients hidden in the ingredient list somewhere since they don’t actually have to answer to the FDA in terms of actually being organic, but not here.
Nudus Organic Lipstick is as it says. It is cruelty-free, non-GMO, and gluten-free. You won’t find any long chemical names in its ingredients, but what you will find is a list of natural oils, waxes, and dyes like kiwi seed, avocado oil, pomegranate oil, and argan oil for healthy lips.
If you are chemically sensitive, then Nudus can be a great alternative lipstick. It goes on nice and thick unlike other organic lipsticks that are more like stain than actual lipstick. Unfortunately, if you have allergies to natural waxes and things like essential oils, then Nudus suddenly become a not-so-wise choice of lipsticks because that is all every shade consists of.
One small downside is all Nudus shades are made with mica to give it shat shimmer. So if you also have a sensitivity to small mica particles, then it may also cause some problems. However, to be honest, the lipstick is so thick with natural waxes that it is likely to soften the impact of the mica particles, dulling their over-processed edges. You can tell that there is only a small amount in the lipstick itself because it is not like roll-on glitter for your lips.
If you have a number of chemical sensitivities, then Nudus lipstick is an awesome option. However, if you have any food allergies, then you want to be sure to check the ingredient labels. For example, the red shades can include carmine, which, while natural, is a common irritant to many. However, if you don’t have any natural allergies, Nudus can be a good lipstick option.
